- Since this site maybe used by users below 13 yrs of age, the site complies fully with COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) and we collect as little personal information as possible from our users.

- Only children over 13 are allowed to register directly with the site. For users under 13, we clearly state that they should ask their parents to register for them using the parent’s email address.

- We only collect email information from our users to authenticate their registration and to distribute newsletters and updates to your users. All payments to the site are done using the user’s PayPal account. We do not collect any personal information like user billing address from PayPal. We just receive payment information from PayPal.

- We also encourage users not to use their real names or email addresses as usernames on the site.

- Being sensitive to the fact that the site maybe used by children under 13, we have ensured that there are no public profiles of users displayed on the site. All methods of interaction on the site like comments and share a story are moderated by us and we ensure that no racist or abusive language is allowed to be posted on the site.

- The only way a user’s username will be visible to other users is if we decide to publish a picturebook using a story submitted by a user. Even in this case, other users will only be able to see the username only and not the profile of the user. All users whose stories have been shortlisted will also be listed on our blog. In case, you do not want your username to be displayed, please inform us when you send us your story.

- If you choose to comment on a story, then your username will be displayed publically. If you comment or send us a post on the blog, your username will be displayed next to your comment or post.

- In order to provide a better experience for our users, we may from time to time, collect information like user behavior on the site, browser information and location of users via IP address. This information helps us in ascertaining user demographics and in enhancing user experience on the site.

- We also use “cookies” to allow your computer to remember your sessions on the site. It also helps us to assess our web page flow and help us remember your behavior on the site to provide you a more personalized experience. If you have cookies disabled on your browser, you may not be able to enjoy the full functionality of the site.

- If you send us a personal email or provide details of a friend’s emails in the Spread the Word page, we may use this information to promote and advertise the site. We will not sell or share this information with any third party.

- For legal reasons we may be required to provide user information if required by law enforcement agencies through a relevant law, court order or legal process.
